Smith College, Mass.

For students at Smith College, getting a crappy summer job slinging burgers or waiting tables because they can't afford to take an unpaid internship in their dream field is a thing of the past. Every junior and senior will be eligible for up to $2,000 for 220 hours of work, courtesy of the school. As long as students get the John Hancock of a faculty member promising the internship jibes with their career plans, they can step out of that apron and into that suit for a summer of career advancement.
