About the Founders

Founded in 1994 by Cyndie Koopsen, RN, MBA, HNC and Caroline Young, MPH, ALLEGRA Learning Solutions, LLC provides print and online continuing professional education courses for nurses and health care professionals.

Cyndie Koopsen is a registered nurse with a certification in public health and holistic nursing and a Master of Business Administration degree. She has cared for patients in many settings, including acute care, community clinics, and the home. In addition, she has designed, developed, and presented educational seminars and programs for multicultural audiences covering the entire spectrum of health promotion, chronic disease management, and disease prevention.

Caroline Young holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a Master of Public Health degree with an emphasis in health promotion. Her extensive public health background includes expertise in research, design, development, marketing, implementation, and evaluation of community health programs. She also has expertise in developing education and health promotion programs for culturally diverse populations, senior populations, and faith communities.

Cyndie and Caroline have been actively involved in the health care field for a combined total of over 40 years. Both have traveled extensively to many countries and have a keen interest in cultures and health practices throughout the world. Both have served as adjunct faculty members with several colleges and have co-authored distance education texts in the areas of cultural diversity, alternative medicine, and gerontology. As the co-founders and co-CEOs of ALLEGRA Learning Solutions, LLC, a company specializing in the development of online professional continuing education courses and programs for health care professionals, they have designed and developed over 150 online professional continuing education courses (approximately 50 of which were developed for Delmar Publishers, an International Thomson Publishing Company) and over 100 distance education courses for vocational, baccalaureate, and master’s level degree programs They have also designed and developed certificate programs in the areas of spirituality, complementary and alternative medicine, and gerontology.

In addition, ALLEGRA Learning Solutions has an extensive team of health care professionals, content experts, authors, and instructional designers with experience in numerous health care specialties.
