don Quijote Spanish School offers the exceptional opportunity to follow the Spanish Program at three different locations, each highlighting a different htmlect of Peruvian culture: the beautiful city of Cuzco, the rainforest of Manu and the picturesque village of Urubamba, in the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
Due to the lower altitude (2800 meters) the climate here is warmer than in Cuzco.
Here you can explore Peru as it is and feel like you are truly immersed in the culture.
The Urubamba Spanish program maintains the high level of instruction, since all don Quijote teachers rotate between the locations. In Urubamba, the teachers live with the students in the residence, offering the students many opportunities to practice Spanish.
The lessons will take place in either the morning or in the late afternoon, allowing tim for the multiple of opportunities for exploring the Valley, either walking, cycling or horseback riding.
In addition to the two guided hikes during the week in Urubamba which are included in the program, there are many walks for the independent adventurer. Urubamba is only an hour distance from the famous sites e.g. Pisac, Ollantaytambo or Chincheros.
The current school building is divided into a sleeping and study/teaching area, surrounded by fruit trees and plants and a small waterfall. There will be a large common space with a fireplace, a library and a sauna. Accommodation will be provided in double or triple bedrooms (6 nights). There are shared toilets (three). Breakfast and lunch are also included in the program.
Departure is every Sunday at 5:00AM from Cuzco. don Quijote will arrange transport for students and teachers. The program runs through the following Saturday (accommodations back in Cuzco are not available before Saturday noon). The price/cost of transport back to Cuzco is not included.
Participants in our Urubamba program have spoken so highly of this location that we strongly recommend all students follow part of their program in Urubamba.
The Urubamba program gives endless opportunities to combine excursions with the Spanish program and students enjoy the tranquility and the intimacy of traditional Peruvian life, away from the hassles of the tourism center of Cuzco.
You have to make arrangements for this excursion once you are at school in Cuzco
