El Escorial
San Lorenzo de El Escorial, 49 Km from Madrid by road and 1,000 above sea level, is one of the former royal residences which in this case owes its universal.
Aranjuez
Aranjuez is located at southern of Madrid, near of the Tajo River for this reason has a special vegetation and weather.
Alcalá de Henares
It lies 30km from Madrid and is an urban complex full of artistic and historic sights. In the old part the former university is outstanding. It used to be the most important one in Spain and was founded by Cardinal Cisneros in 1496.
From Medieval Madrid to Madrid of the Austrias
We start our tour at the Plaza Mayor(1) (Main Square), which takes its name at the start of the 16th century. Juan de Herrera was commissioned to remodel the old square of Arrabal, but construction wasn't degun until 1617 under the direction of Juan G—mez de Mora by order of Felipe III.

Teatro Real, Puerta del Sol and Alcalá
Our tour begins at the Teatro Real(17) built by Queen Isabel II and remodeled and inaugurated in 1997 as the opera house.
From the Puerta de Toledo to the Parque del Oeste
Our itinerary begins in a popular area. The Puerta de Toledo(30) (Toledo Archway) is located in themold quarter of Madrid called La Latina, which preserves the traditional flavor of the old part of the city.
