  Avid Editing Workstations

Our picture editing facilities consist of twelve Avid Media Composer 1000s, completely upgraded to handle film projects, located in one editing classroom with a large flat-panel screen for teaching and playback, and two discrete editing rooms. Workstations are networked and equipped with dual 21" RGB monitors, Sony 14" broadcast-quality monitors, ample portable media storage, near-field speakers, and Mackie mixers. Digital-Betcam, DVCAM, and S-VHS video decks in the Annex Room directly support these rooms, with the Machine Room indirectly supporting HDCAM material. A separate classroom with mini-DV decks and nine Avid Xpress DV editing workstations ease the students' transition into the Media Composer.

A dedicated voice-over and Foley booth with a large window overlooking a control room equipped with a Mackie 32x8 8-bus mixer is currently being integrated with our racks of Foley props. Access to the Equipment Room's extensive world-class microphone collection (Schoeps, Sennheiser, Neumann) is standard as well as interfacing with the Machine Room and video decks through the adjacent Annex Room. A huge collection of sound effects is available on CD as well as online over our proprietary, networked sound effects server.
