  Dubbing Stage

Certified Sound concentration students mix in our state-of-the-art Dubbing Stage constructed with outstanding theater acoustics in mind. The 96-input Solid State Logic Axiom digital audio mixing console combines the best of SSL's design features with the latest developments in digital technology, featuring a fully-automatable surround-sound desktop surface. Outboard racks contain Lexicon's 480L and the new surround-sound 960L reverberators, three TC Electronics Finalizer mastering limiters, two TC Electronic's Fireworx effects boxes, Dolby Laboratories' DP563, DP569, and DP562 Multichannel and Surround encoder and decoders, Dolby's Surround Sound SEU4 encoder and SDU4 decoder, a Tascam DA-98 digital eight-track upgraded with AES I/O, a variable-speed CD player, a timecode DAT recorder, and a Precision Analog MPA100 microphone pre-amp. Playback is through 5.1 plus Dolby EX active Genelec speakers with room equalization via three TC Electronic TC1128 digital EQ's. Audio sources interfacing with the console in the adjacent machine room include Tascam MMR8 and MMP16 digital dubbers and a 64-track Pro Tools Mix workstation, controllable from within the dub stage, as well as the Machine Room.
