Construction Management

If you want to enter the field of construction, or already work in construction, an associate or bachelor's degree in construction management from Westwood College is a great first step to advance your career. The programs focus on three main areas of instruction (construction science, construction management and business) to provide you with the tools required to successfully manage construction projects. Your coursework in construction management provides a basic foundation in the construction concepts that are fundamental to residential and light commercial buildings, such as building materials, construction design and construction methods. You’ll also learn the skills needed to provide support to construction projects and to develop estimates, bids and schedules. The business component of the program prepares you to provide administrative support to the internal operation of a construction company. In the bachelor's program you’ll also learn about construction science, construction management and the overall construction business to provide you with the tools required to successfully manage construction projects. As a graduate of either program, you’ll be equipped to seek job titles such as assistant project manager, assistant project superintendent, assistant estimator or assistant field manager.
