EGO CUP - Handfree Bluetooth Car Kit

If you are looking for a Bluetooth solution specifically for your vehicle (we here in California have no choice as the Hands-Free Law went into effect July 1st), EGO has devised a hands-free Bluetooth solution to tailor everyone driving a vehicle with a cup holder and a Bluetooth compatible phone: the EGO CUP.

The problem with most Bluetooth headsets is that they fit the majority of people’s ears, but unfortunately rules out the people that have slightly larger or smaller ears. EGO has taken this problem into consideration and devised a Bluetooth device that fits into the cup-holder of your vehicle. Coming with/without a cup holder insert, the EGO CUP will fit any cup holder comfortably. Your cigarette lighter port powers the device by simply plugging it in with the provided 12V adapter cable.

The EGO CUP requires very little setup to be paired with your phone and is virtually Plug-n-Play. It comes with a built-in loudspeaker and a noise-canceling microphone.
The EGO CUP also supports mobile phone based voice commands and to top it off comes with a 2-Year warranty.

The EGO CUP is truly a unique device in its design, and as such we held its functionality to same high expectations. I personally installed the device on my vehicle and was immediately impressed on the ease of installation and pairing with my Audiovoxx XV6700 phone. The sound quality of the caller projecting through the built-in speaker was very clear. During the call however, we noticed that she had a hard time hearing me, so I had to speak up a bit. The noise cancellation technology integrated into the EGO CUP is very impressive because even while driving through traffic with the windows down, the person I was speaking with could not hear the wind/road noise.

For roughly $100, the EGO CUP is a bargain. More expensive wire-integrated car kits use the same technology with the same quality. But, with the EGO CUP, you can save the extra money that you would pay for installation on a fancy unit and spend/save the extra money as you see fit.
